Do you want to become an electrician? – be cautious what course you do

You can’t become a qualified electrician with a 3 days course. Electrician’s study at college and train on the job for between 3-4 years. There is also additional add on courses/assessments to help develop as an electrician. So your learning and development is constantly improving. You can’t study for 3 days or a short intensive week course and think or be told you’re qualified to the latest Electrical Regulations and competent to go out and start working as a fully qualified electrician.

Think about these points:

  • Are you able to take it all in and retain it
  • Will you have the confidence and knowledge to install everything correctly and safety
  • Can you correct you’re mistakes or find complicated faults
  • Experience comes from on the job learning as an apprentice and making those mistakes and correcting and learning from them.
  • As an apprentice you work with and see what an electrician does daily and how he does it
Do you want to become an electrician? – be cautious what course you do
